2024: Mia Peardon

Mia Peardon, an early-career librarian from Ballarat Libraries, was awarded the 2024 Margery C Ramsay Scholarship to explore innovative approaches to heritage collections management in public libraries.

Her project focuses on improving access to and engagement with local history and heritage collections, with a strong emphasis on amplifying cultural narratives—particularly those of Aboriginal communities.

Through sector-wide consultation and data gathering, Mia aims to build a clearer picture of current practices and support needs, ultimately helping public libraries better preserve, share, and celebrate the diverse stories held in their collections.
