Build a Story World with Davina Bell

Work with award-winning author Davina Bell in this hands-on workshop where stories and imaginations flourish.
Perfect for children aged 5-12 years.
Join us on 8 and 15 April, multiple sessions.
My Love Umbrella

Create your own ‘Love Umbrella' hanging mobile in this joyful, hands-on craft activity inspired by the children’s picture book Under the Love Umbrella by Davina Bell and Allison Colpoys.
Perfect for children aged 5-12 years.
This workshop runs between 3-5pm. It is running daily from 4-19 April, on weekends only from 21 April to 21 June and a session running on 8 June.
Storytime with Davina Bell

Acclaimed children’s author Davina Bell takes over our beloved Storytime sessions this autumn to read her book of Under the Love Umbrella.
Perfect for ages 3-8 years.
Join us on 8 and 15 April, multiple sessions.
Storytime: After Dark

The people have left, the lights have been dimmed, and the Library has gone to bed. Or so the grown-ups think! Join us for a special Storytime after dark.
Most suitable for ages 3-8 years.
Sessions on 14 April and 2 June 2026.
National Simultaneous Storytime

Expect a session full of books, songs and rhymes in this joyful celebration of reading, literacy and community as we share the same story at the same time, right across Australia.
Perfect for children aged 3-8 years old.
Join us on 27 May at 12-12.30pm.
Create a Kite craft activity

Inspired by best-selling children’s picture book Under the Love Umbrella, written by Davina Bell and illustrated by Allison Colpoys, celebrate the wondrous ways love is shared with your family and friends. Use colour and collage to decorate your own kite and add it to the Library’s mural wall for all to see, as part of a craft activity designed by Allison.
Perfect for children aged 5-12 years, and their families.
Drop in anytime between 3-5pm daily from 10 to 27 January 2026, on weekends between 31 January to 29 March 2026, and on Labour Day (9 March 2026).
Auslan Storytime

Auslan Storytime brings stories to life through visual language, expression and movement – delivered entirely in Australian Sign Language (Auslan).
Perfect for kids aged 3-5 and their families.
Auslan Storytime runs on the 1st and 3rd Monday of each month (except during school holidays and on public holidays).
Storytime

Our Storytime sessions showcase classic stories and new works from much loved authors – along with your favourite songs and rhymes for children aged 3 to 5 years old.
Storytime runs every Wednesday at 10:30am (except during school holidays and on public holidays).
Toddler Tales

Come along and make some noise as we explore language and literacy through stories, rhymes, and songs for children aged 18 months to 3 years.
Toddler Tales runs every Monday at 10.30am (except during school holidays and on public holidays).
Baby Bounce

Perfect for children aged 18 months and younger, join us for a fun, interactive session of stories, songs and rhymes.
Baby Bounce runs every Monday and Wednesday from 11.30am-12.00pm (except during school holidays and on public holidays).
