Use historical thinking skills to step back in time to examine the changing features of Victoria. Students will gain an understanding of the impact of colonisation during the 19th and 20th centuries, by analysing a variety of State Library Victoria’s historical artefacts.

Students will:  

  • Use historical sources as evidence to gain an understanding of Victoria’s colonial past
  • Analyse cause and effect of the colonisation of Victoria
  • Determine historical significance of key figures and events in Victoria’s history 
  • Participate in a guided tour of the Library’s heritage spaces

Size of booking: A maximum of two classes (50 students) can be allocated to one booking time and program via the online booking system.

Funding opportunity for low-ICSEA schools

Schools with an ICSEA ranking below 1000 may be eligible for our Access Education Funding to support the cost of attending a facilitated program at State Library Victoria.
