Student placements

State Library Victoria welcomes applications for work-based learning placements from tertiary students studying in a field relevant to the work of the Library.

We welcome students to join the Library across a broad range of teams which can include Collections, Programming, Visitor Services and more.

Please note that all placements in Collections require students to be undertaking ALIA-recognised librarian and library technician courses.

If you are a current tertiary student and would like to apply for a student placement at the Library, we encourage you to contact your placement officer and direct them to get in touch with us at [email protected].

The Library is a Child Safe Organisation, and a valid Volunteer Working with Childrens Check is required for all students undertaking a placement. To apply for a Working with Children Check, please refer to the Service Victoria website.
