Inside the Preservation studio

12 May 2020

Meet our preservation technician Savina Hopkins, whose job is to re-house items in the Library's collection so that they're stable and protected. Her meticulous work helps slow down the chemical and physical degradation of the millions of books, manuscripts, ephemera, photographs and objects in our collection.

Savina lets us into her studio for a sneak peek at her recent work creating custom boxes (which are works of art in themselves!) to house the Library's precious Vali Myers archive.

Gems from the Library

This is episode three of our Gems from the Library series, where we celebrate the treasures in our Collection and the dedicated and talented staff who care for them.
