'Til you drop
The 'Til you drop exhibition celebrated Melbourne's passion for shopping, from browsing gowns in the Paris end of Collins Street to picking up essentials at the local corner store.
Linking shopping with cultural and social developments such as increasing leisure time, immigration and the suburban sprawl, the exhibition explored Melbourne's social history through changes in our shopping habits, from early settlement and 1880s Marvellous Melbourne to today.
The 'Til you drop exhibition was held from 11 December 2009 to 31 October 2010.
