This intensive workshop introduces students to practical research tools and strategies to help them succeed in senior secondary school and beyond.
Many of the helpful resources explored in this workshop can't be simply found by a search engine, but they're freely accessible from school or home. As part of your program, students will participate in a guided tour of the Library's services and heritage spaces.
Students will:
- Be introduced to the Library's subject-specific research guides on a range of subjects relevant to VCE
- Refine complex search queries to find relevant information
- Learn to navigate the Library's extensive range of free databases
- Understand the importance of being a critical and creative thinker in today’s world.
Victorian Curriculum 2.0
State Library Victoria offers curriculum-aligned programs to support teachers and foster meaningful student engagement and understanding. This program meets several Victorian Curriculum 2.0 content descriptors in Critical and Creative Thinking and Digital Literacy, as well as Key Skills in VCE English and EAL, VCE Literature and VCE Extended Investigation. Funding opportunity for low-ICSEA schools
Schools with an ICSEA ranking below 1000 may be eligible for our Access Education Funding to support the cost of attending a facilitated program at State Library Victoria.
