More to discover, more to love
We’ve spent five years and 400,000 hours of work reimagining what a library can be. In addition to our collection of more than 5.1 million items – including books, paintings, maps, costumes and manuscripts – we’ve added a world of unexpected spaces for creation, collaboration and play. Built to cater for Victoria’s growing needs, State Library Victoria is a diverse playground of free tools and services.
Whether you’re searching for artistic inspiration, a hub to study, a dancefloor to celebrate with your friends, equipment to record your next podcast or an incubator to grow your business venture – we’ve got you covered.
Spend an afternoon in our family-friendly areas where little ones can play, learn and create. Host your business keynote in our state-of-the-art conference facilities, or relax with a good book and a coffee at our two onsite cafes.
Your new sanctuary in the city is here to discover – just add curiosity.
