Join us for Storytime every Wednesday and Thursday for fun with stories, songs and rhymes brought to life by the Library's Chief Storyteller.

Get creative as you support your child to make their own book-inspired whatchamacallit, thingamijig or doohickey. Stay and explore Play Pod or read a book of your own!

Share this fun session with children aged three to five.

Storytime is held twice weekly:

  • Wednesdays 11.30am-12pm
  • Thursdays 10.30-11am.

Please note: Children under 12 must be accompanied by an adult in the Library. State Library Victoria is a Child Safe Organisation.

Join in from home

You can now join in the fun of Storytime even if you can’t make it to the Library.

On the third Thursday of each month, we broadcast Storytime live from the Library. The recording of this live broadcast will be hosted on the Kindergarten IT website for a month from the date of the initial broadcast.

Please note: The final Storytime for 2018 was on Thursday 16 August
Our Baby Bounce, Storytime and Play Pod programs are now on a break until spring 2019, when the new Children’s Quarter will open with lots of amazing features and fun opportunities for children and families to read, learn and play.
