Mind-boggling miniature books

27 September 2022

In this episode of Mystery Box, Senior Librarian Anna Welch guides us through some intricate and astounding items from the Library's miniature books collection.

Miniature books have been produced for many centuries, allowing titles of particular spiritual or personal significance to be kept close at all times. Genres and topics can vary widely, from prayer books to topical almanacs, and sizes range from the macro miniature (76mm x 111mm) all the way down to the ultra micro miniature (5mm x 5mm) (and even smaller).

Watch the video above to learn more about these small-scale possessions.
