Mat Larkin Story Talks

Smiling man next to book cover
10 September 2020

Mat Larkin, author of popular children's book The Orchard Underground, dreams up wondrous worlds and colourful characters on a daily basis.

In a series of bite-sized videos, Mat introduces us to his weird and wild characters and teaches us how to generate creative ideas and embrace our own vast imaginations.

Each video ends with a rich literacy activity to encourage kids to let their ideas flow. Designed to activate and inspire young writers, this series is perfect for remote learning and as a fun school holiday activity.

Story Talks is suitable for children aged eight to 12 and features Auslan interpretation.

The Story Talks series is supported by Gandel Foundation.

Pauline Gandel Children’s Quarter, also supported by Gandel Foundation, is a purpose-built space for children and families to read, learn and play, with an associated program of activities.
