Sun Books was an Australian paperback publisher established in 1965 by Geoffrey Dutton, Brian Stonier and Max Harris, three colleagues from Penguin Australia who left the firm to create a unique platform for local content. Sun Books published 340 titles, before being subsumed by Macmillan in 1981, celebrating Australian voices and delivering their stories in accessible yet sophisticated forms. Brian Sadgrove created the distinctive graphic style of the early covers.
