Andy Griffiths on why libraries change lives

15 April 2020

'Libraries have always been part of my life. Right from the beginning, books were always a world of fascination to me' - Andy Griffiths.

Bestselling Treehouse author Andy Griffiths visited State Library Victoria for a Story Talks event to inspire primary students to become lifelong lovers of words and stories.

Watch this short video to see snippets from his talk, where he shares insights into his storytelling craft and keeps a roomful of distractable primary students completely transfixed – and in stitches!

While Andy was at the Library he also spoke candidly to us about how to instil a love of stories in children, and why libraries change lives

Story Talks was held at the Library in March 2020 as part of a program of activities supported by Gandel Philanthropy.
