Help fund photography from country Victoria and build the State Collection

For 165 years State Library Victoria has commissioned and collected photography. Photographs offer a record of ordinary and extraordinary times, and the work of recording our times continues today.

2020 was an unprecedented year, from extreme bushfires to a global pandemic.

In country Victoria these challenges, combined with persistent drought and adverse international trade conditions, struck at the heart of many regional industries and communities.

Our 2021 End of Financial Year Appeal will be focused on country Victoria and collecting stories of courage and loss from the unforgettable year of 2020.

We need your help to do this.

How your support helps

expand our photographic and oral history records across Victoria
employ regional photographers
ensure a permanent record of Victoria’s experience of this extraordinary time is available for future generations.
