Original Blinky Bill illustrations

These unique illustrations were hand-drawn by Blinky Bill author Dorothy Wall (1894–1942). The set of 36 includes painted images, tracings and preparatory drawings depicting much-loved characters such as Blinky, Bib and Nutsy. The illustrations are from the private collection of the author's family, and were available to acquire for the first time.

Dorothy Wall’s iconic Blinky Bill has touched children’s lives for over 70 years. The illustrations are a true national treasure and belong in a public collection, where they can be seen by visitors and featured in family programs. The State Library holds one of the most significant collections of children’s books and illustrations in the country, making it Blinky Bill’s ideal home.
