Artwork: Reality is only a word

Ruth's research will result in a new time-based, visual artwork that draws on the relationship between digital and analogue image culture and information processing. It will also result in a printed artwork for the State Library collection.

Ruth Höflich was born in Munich, and now lives and works in Melbourne. She holds an MFA from The Milton Avery Graduate School of the Arts, Bard College, New York, and BA (Hons) from the Slade School of Fine Art, London.

Her work has been shown at Kunstverein and Haus der Kunst, Munich; ICA, Arcade Fine Arts and FormContent in London; and most recently Lubov, New York and Ventilator Gallery, Basel. Her practice also fosters an ongoing engagement with multiple forms of collaboration, publishing and curatorial projects, and she has been a committee member of artist-run institutions in the UK and Germany.
