Caroline Field

Caroline was an Honourary Creative Fellow at State Library Victoria from 2012 to 2016, during which she researched the significant contribution Australia Galleries has made to the Australian commercial gallery scene.

Combining the personal story of the Purves family against the backdrop of an exciting and stimulating period in the Australian art world, her book includes archival photography, correspondence, memoirs and anecdotes from major artists such as Arthur Boyd, Sidney Nolan and Albert Tucker, as well as critics, collectors and supporters of the gallery.
