Max Allen

Leading wine writer Max Allen won a 2013 creative fellowship to research the story of the close personal friendship between Wurundjeri leader William Barak and the de Pury family, Swiss settlers at the forefront of the 19th-century Yarra Valley wine boom. The story reconnects the two cultures, 150 years after the establishment of Coranderrk and the de Pury family's Yeringberg winery.
