Album of photographs relating to the Madden family.

Photograph album with cover boards covered with blue cloth held in place by stitched thread. 40 cardboard leaves with varying numbers of images pasted to surface, 5 verso and 3 recto pages hold newspaper clippings providing images with context. Pages interleaved with tissue paper. Many images with titles inscribed in black ink on album page beside image. Images include family photographs including many children at various locations including, "Cloyne" St. Kilda, Macedon, Daylesford, Werribee, Frankston, Ballarat, Flemington races and government residences. Images include outback scenes in New South Wales showing Aboriginal Australians and a bushman seated with his pipe, scenes in Ireland, Suez and Sri Lanka. Also includes Sir John Madden's son in law Captain Vallange's experiences in the South African War: images pasted from the back of the album and upside down.
