Inscribe a plaque in the La Trobe Reading Room

If you are looking to mark a momentous event in your life or to remember a loved one, consider doing so with a bronze plaque on one of the heritage desks in the magnificent La Trobe Reading Room.

Since 1913 the Library’s domed reading room has been the symbolic heart of State Library Victoria. Today it retains its original reading desks, tables and chairs crafted from fine Queensland silky oak timber, radiating out from the central dais.

A donation of $5000 can ensure your place in this iconic space: with a bronze plaque to pay enduring tribute to someone you love, to commemorate a milestone or to honour a company founder or colleague.

The plaque can be inscribed with a custom message of up to 40 words.

Inscribe a plaque now, and claim your seat in Australia's oldest public library and the fourth most-visited public library in the world.
