The Football record has been the official match day program of the VFL/AFL since 1912. It's as much a part of the football experience as meat pies and team colours.
Originally published to provide spectators with player guernsey numbers, it also contained news and gossip from around the league, results from the previous round, goal-kicking statistics, venue information, the competition ladder and future fixtures. The modern version retains all these items but is full colour and includes feature articles, commentary from regular columnists and a wealth of statistical information.
As a result, the Football record is an important resource for anyone interested in the VFL/AFL competition and its participants.
