Spotlight on Portraits: Heritage Collection Series

Portraits have a unique place in history, by looking at who was portrayed and how, we can gain insight into the social and cultural history of that time. 

Join Senior Librarian Bridie Flynn in an online discussion as she explores her favourite portraits in the Library’s extensive pictorial collection of Victorian people.  

This presentation will showcase a collection of portraits like a man smoking a tobacco pipe while tentatively holding a puffer fish, Miss Nancy Cook playing in the garden with her dog Betty, and Australian rules footballer Darcy Vescio posing with all of their trophies.
