“I saw it online, so it must be true.”
In an age where information is only ever a click away and anyone can be an armchair expert, how can we tell the good sources from the bad?
Our first Salon After DArc event of the year, Changing Your Mind, unpacks the anatomy of misinformation – how it’s constructed, disseminated and, ultimately, believed.
In a night packed with truth-testing experiments, interactive fact checking kits and powerful conversations, dissect the forces at work in shaping our perceptions of truth.
Featuring:
- Jamila Rizvi, Deputy Managing Director of Future Women, author and broadcaster.
- Sami Shah, Pakistani-Australian comedian, writer, broadcaster and curator of OzAsia Festival’s Weekend of Words.
- Sushi Das, Award-winning British-Australian journalist, author and lecturer at RMIT University.
- Gordon Farrer, journalist and lecturer at RMIT University.
Don’t miss out on a complimentary cocktail on arrival and a special collections viewing from 6.30pm.
