Take a virtual walk through regional and rural Victoria on an interactive sonic map as part of Emerging Writers Festival.

Six artists from regional and rural Victoria will contribute readings to Regional echoes. Click the pins to hear their reflections on how regional Australia features in storytelling, through topics such as writing about place, how place can become a character and small towns in the Australian literary Canon.

About the artists

  • Renay Barker-Mulholland is a proud First Nations woman from Birpai and Daingatte mobs, with experience spanning digital and mixed media, writing, public speaking and more
  • Josephine Winter is an author and journalist working as a language and literacy specialist in regional Victoria
  • William Farnsworth is a gay, non-binary published writer who is currently studying philosophy.

Regional echoes will be available through Emerging Writers Festival from 12pm, Wednesday 16 June 2021 until 31 May 2022.

This event is a collaboration between Emerging Writers Festival and State Library Victoria.
