Join us online to learn about the Library’s collection of artist books.

Dominique Dunstan, Librarian History of the Book & Arts, will provide a background to one of the Library’s most colourful and fascinating collections.

While there is no strict definition of artists’ books, they are generally accepted as books made by artists and intended as works of art. They can range from handmade deluxe editions through to inexpensive multiples.

This presentation will feature a selection of contemporary works by Australian artists such as Deanna Hitti, Angela Cavalieri, Peter Lyssiotis, Judy Watson, and Dianne Fogwell, and show a range of techniques used by artists, from traditional print processes to altered books and books created via digital media.

State Library Victoria Cultural, Family & Student members get early access to our upcoming events. To get your tickets ahead of the crowd, become a member today.
