Popping up at the Library, this multiplayer installation game consists of four musical pillars, each representing a different musical instrument. Each pillar is embedded with sensors activated by close proximity movement. As participants wave their hands or move their bodies in front of the pillars, they light up in a distinctive colour and emit an instrumental tone – from ethereal flutes to graceful strings.
Musical monoliths can be played solo or with up to four players at a time to create a harmonious musical symphony. This installation will immerse participants in free-form, ambient play while discovering, creating and connecting with each other through music and physical movement.
Please note: no bookings required.
This event is part of narrm ngarrgu | Melbourne Knowledge Week, 9 May – 15 May 2022, proudly presented by the City of Melbourne.
