Make the most of the final days and nights of summer with our Library on the Lawn festival.

We’ll have live music, comedy, workshops, roving performances, face painting and other free family-friendly outdoor events activities over three weekends in February and March.

See the full program below. Bookings are not required, and events are suitable for all ages unless specified.

Friday 4 March

Forecourt stage

12.30pm – 1.30pm: We’ve Got This: stories by disabled parents at The Wheeler Centre (enter via Little Lonsdale Street)

1.45pm – 2.30pm: Literary yoga with Little Warriors Yoga

3.30pm – 4.15pm: DJ Emma Peel

4.45pm – 5.30pm: Book perfect match with Readings State Library

6.30pm – 7.15pm: Booky Nights: trivia – literary trivia with Jess McGuire, hosted by The Wheeler Centre

7.30pm – 8.15pm: Booky Nights: tunes – dance the night away with Jess McGuire, hosted by The Wheeler Centre

Drop-in workshops

1.00pm – 4.00pm: Hand painting with Little Party Faces

1.00pm – 8.00pm: Make a mini-zine with Sticky Institute

Please note: due to a foreboding wet weather forecast, we're sadly going to have to cancel Saturday 5 March Library on the Lawn Festival program.

Planning your visit

State Library Victoria is a Child Safe Organisation. Children 12 and under must be accompanied by an adult.

Visitors to the Library over 18 years of age must be fully vaccinated against COVID-19 and will be required to provide proof of vaccination, either with a digital certificate linked to the Service Victoria app or a printed copy of their vaccination certificate with identification.
