The late John Emmerson was described as ‘one of the great book collectors of our time’ by Nicholas Barker, editor of The book collector.
In 2015 the Emmerson Collection, comprising over 5000 early English books with a particular emphasis on the English Civil War, was donated to the State Library of Victoria.
During this session, Richard Overell and Des Cowley will introduce you to some of the highlights of the Library's Emmerson Collection of rare books.
About the speakers
