The Indigenous voice entered the Australian children’s book industry in 1964 with the publication of The Legends of Moonie Jarl.
Juliet O'Conor, Children’s Research Librarian at State Library Victoria, will discuss the significance of this book and showcase the breadth of Indigenous children's books published more recently, through a range of Indigenous authored and illustrated picture books, books for younger readers and novels for older readers.
Presented by State Library Victoria as part of the Blak & Bright Indigenous Literary Festival.
