What experiences of Melbourne Fringe Festival are in our collective memory? Come and share yours as part of SCRIBE, as we build a democratic document of all that Fringe has meant to us over these 40 years.

Led by artist and curator Leisa Shelton and a collective of artists, SCRIBE collects anonymous experiences from public contributors. Sit down with your personal scribe in the Library’s The Rest Is Up To You exhibition, and reflect on your own stories from Fringe over the years, as they are collected and documented in either text, braille or drawings.

No bookings required. This event is presented by State Library Victoria and Melbourne Fringe.

Please note: an Auslan interpreter will be at the event from 2.30 to 3.30pm.

About Leisa Shelton

Leisa Shelton is a performance artist/maker and curator with a practice that foregrounds collaboration and an advocacy for new Australian transdisciplinary work. Leisa’s current practice is focused on curatorship and development of new frames for the presentation and development of performance.

This shift in direction from having worked nationally and internationally as a performer, maker, director and teacher of performance, evolved out of a recognition of distinct gaps in the cultural landscape for opportunities that offered greater visibility and recognition for Australian contemporary performance.
