It seems human nature to long for a better world: an idealised place where harmony reigns. But utopian plans are rarely straightforward in practice!

Explore unrealised utopian visions in landscape and urban design, from Le Corbusier’s radical ‘radiant village’ and the Burley Griffins’ esoteric plans for Canberra, to the tragic tale of Frank Lloyd Wright’s estate Taliesin, where a utopia became a dystopia of adultery, murder, suicide and natural disaster.
