Preservation tour

Walk through Quarantine and the Library’s Preservation Studio and hear from specialist staff about preventive conservation, archival storage, custom housing, and how unique and surprising Library collections are managed and preserved.

Currently, the team are working on preparing newspapers for digitisation and rehousing major collections.

Conservation tour

Tour the Conservation Lab and learn the colourful history of the Library's Conservation Laboratory as participants are introduced to a range of everyday treatments through to major projects.

Recently, the team completed the treatment and preparation of items from the Handmade Universe exhibition and began the conservation treatment of the William Butterfield Collection.
