From their early origins as a medicinal cure-all to their jump across the bar and into cocktails, bitters have held a place close to our hearts (literally – they were used to relieve heartburn).
Nowadays, bitters can be found in some of the world’s most popular cocktails: the Manhattan, the Sazerac and the Old Fashioned, to name a few.
Join us at the Library for a quiz, panel discussion, tasting and collection display on the enduring spirit of bitters, vermouth, amari and cocktails.
Hear from some of the leading voices on the Australian cocktail scene with panel moderator Cara Devine from Behind the Bar and Goodwater, and panellists Gilles Lapalus, winemaker and co-founder of Maidenii, and Michael Ryan, founder and owner of Beechworth Bitters.
Tickets are strictly limited, so book now.
