About the appeal
Over more than 50 years, award-winning photographer Bruce Postle captured extraordinary images of social, political and sporting moments in Australia's history.
From the Vietnam moratorium rallies in the early 1970s to the Rolling Stones' first visit to Australia, Postle's vast archive portrays Australian life in the second half of the 20th century.
We need your help to raise $75,000 by 30 June 2019 to acquire and preserve the Bruce Postle Archive for future generations.
Bruce Postle is a multi-award-winning photojournalist with more than five decades behind the lens. He began his career in newspapers at the age of 16, moving from Queensland Country Life onto Brisbane's Courier Mail and then to the Age in Melbourne in 1969. His innate ability to imagine and capture a front-page-worthy shot elevated him to legend status in the news business.
