Preservation tour
Explore the Library’s Preservation Studio and Quarantine and hear about some of the intriguing items the teams work on behind closed doors.
From preventative conservation, through to archival storage and custom housing, there are many steps to managing and preserving the Library’s collection.
In this tour, the Preservation Team will guide you through some of the projects they're working on, from maps and manuscripts to objects and textiles.

Conservation tour
The conservation of fragile materials is a little-seen but crucial part of the Library's work, and ensures that we can keep the collection widely available to all Victorians.
Go behind the scenes of the Library’s Conservation Lab in this member-exclusive tour.
Participants will meet our specialist conservators and view a range processes, from everyday treatments through to major conservation projects within the State Collection.
