The Library building is open

The Library spaces are open daily from 10am to 6pm, excluding the Russell Street Welcome Zone and Readings bookshop which will reopen in January 2022. View our opening hours.

Everyone entering the Library building over the age of 12 and 2 months is required to be fully vaccinated.

Visitors to the Library will need to check in using the Service Victoria app and will be asked to provide proof of vaccination, either with a digital certificate linked to the Service Vic app or a printed copy of their vaccination certificate with photo identification.

Masks are now optional for all visitors to the Library and there are no density limits.

Bookings are not needed to visit the Library. Registration is required to attend the Library's on-site programs, and access to the Heritage Collection is by appointment only via our Ask a Librarian service.

Our on-site school offer (both self-guided and facilitated programs) will return in 2022.

As always, the health and safety of our staff and visitors is our top priority, and we are strictly complying with the Victorian Government public health directions to protect everyone who comes through our doors.
