State Library Victoria will be hosting several free online and in-person events during the Emerging Writers’ Festival (EWF).
Regional echoes (Wednesday 16 June 2021 to Tuesday 31 May 2022)
As part of the EWF, you can take a virtual walk through regional and rural Victoria.
Immerse yourself with the readings of six artists from regional and rural Victoria and how regional Australia features in storytelling. Explore how the regions can form an important part of our literary Canon through the amazing works of Renay Barker-Mulholland, Josephine Winter and William Farnsworth.
Zine me up workshop (Saturday 26 June)
Calling zine lovers of all skill levels! The Library’s zine collection team invites you to an educational and practical workshop where you can create a zine of your own. The workshop will be held at the Create Quarter where the zine team will take you through the history and importance of zines and alternative publishing.
You’ll then get hands-on in a guided zine-making session, run by illustrator and comics artist Kim Lam.
Who knows? You might end up creating a zine of historical significance as well!
