About Rochester Football Club

Formed in 1874 with the stated purpose of 'playing and beating' rival neighbouring club Echuca, the Rochester Football Club is one of the oldest country clubs in Victoria. The black-and-yellow Tigers crossed to the Bendigo Football League in 1915 after a triumphant season in the Goulburn Valley competition. The club played in the BFL until 1971, enjoying a fair amount of success.

Historical Victorian newspaper match results, and reports of the club's search for a coach, bring to life Rochester's emergence within the BFL.
