Georgiana McCrae is now best known for her witty and perceptive diaries, which bring to life early accounts of the colony. She was also an accomplished artist, specialising in portraiture – but was forbidden from painting professionally by the etiquette of the day.

Join librarian Gerard Hayes to view a display of her sketches, paintings and artefacts such as her paintbox and easel.
