Terms & Conditions

The Online Shop is operated by the State Library of Victoria, ABN 73 190 237 854. Its use is subject to the following Terms and Conditions.

Prices & Delivery Charges 

All of the prices quoted in the Online Shop are in Australian dollars, and include GST where applicable. All prices are correct at the time of online publication. Prices are subject to change without notice. Sale items are are only available at the lower price during the sale period.

We endeavour to process all orders within 7 days. The Online Shop is not responsible for items lost or misdirected by Australian or overseas postal services.

General merchandise

For delivery within Australia, all parcels are sent by ordinary mail.  International delivery is charged at  economy rate (to one international address). Expected delivery time is 4-6 weeks from time of despatch. Insurance is added. The basic charge is $3.00 (for each $100.00 worth of goods or part thereof). Should a delivery of goods need to be split for any reason, there will be only one postal charge levied per order per delivery address.

Payment

Online payment is accepted by credit card only. We accept Mastercard, Bankcard and VISA.

Offline orders may be paid for by bank cheque or money order in Australian dollars only, payable to the State Library of Victoria. Personal cheques issued by Australian banks in Australian currency are accepted subject to 5 business days clearance.

Tax Invoices/Receipts

Tax invoices and receipts for online purchase transactions can be confirmed and printed from the Your Orders page. The Online Shop will keep your order information online for two years, after which time a service charge will apply to obtain a copy of your tax invoice/receipt.

Stock

We endeavour to keep stock of all titles listed in the Online Shop. Unforeseen supply problems or unexpected demand may occasionally result in stock being unavailable.

Refunds

The Online Shop does not provide refunds for items delivered. Additionally, payments cannot be cancelled after goods have been dispatched.

Exchanges

We do all we can to ensure that orders are correct and arrive in good condition. However, if you are not sent the items you ordered, or if the items arrive damaged, we will replace the damaged goods or make up the shortage.

Any claim by you in respect of any shortages and/or defects in the items must be notified to us by you within 7 days of the delivery date, stating the nature of the shortage/defect and quoting the invoice number. If you fail to so notify us we regret you will be deemed to have accepted the goods.
