Claire Smiddy, the coordinator of the Victorian Premier’s Literary Awards tells me that there is a record 75 entries in this year’s Young Adult Fiction category.
This year is also fantastically strong with, imho, at least six titles that would be worthy winners in any year.
The 2009 shortlist will be announced on Friday 7 August, and winners will be announced at a celebratory dinner on Tuesday 1 September.
At the risk of provoking the book gods’ wrath, whatever happened to slowdown?
