Close to the edge
Time is running out if you are planning to attend Reading Matters but have not yet booked. There is currently less than 30 places for the conference.

The conference includes MT Anderson, Mal Peet, John Green, Cathy Cassidy, Bernard Beckett and a special keynote address from scientist and historian Tim Flannery. You can see the full agenda here.
If you want to book, ring us on 8664 7555. But don’t hang about.
There are still some places for the Youth Day on Thursday 28 May.
Meantime, best wishes for the Easter break. I am looking forward to reading the new Archie Fusillo novel, Last of the Braves, which landed on the desk today. (It’s in the shops from 4 May.) I’ve been waiting to see Archie’s new YA novel for a while. Will also dip into the graphic novel of Waltz With Bashir. And looking froward to finishing Cathy Cassidy’s Scarlett. I’m warming fast to Cathy’s brand of awkward boys and misfit girls. Looking forward to meeting Cathy and hearing her at Reading Matters.
