The Last HP Roundup Ever (yeah, right)
Okay. I’m sure if you’re interested, you’ve already read it all. If you’re not interested, you don’t care. If you can’t be bothered reading it but want to know what happens, look at the Wikipedia page, or call me.
But here are some things that tickled me (there are only spoilers where indicated):
Spoilers (sort-of spoilers for Citizen Kane and The Matrix, but not Harry Potter)
What’s next for JK and Harry. (spoilers)
Some casting news about the HP6 movie (including what I believe to be the first Aussie… is that right?)
One of the worst recommended reading lists I’ve ever seen. Stay tuned for CYL’s own Life After Harry list, coming soon. Oh, and a special Life After Harry Booktalkers and Booktalkers for Teenagers. More on that next week.
If you want to know what it was like to line up for HP7 in Times Square, I suggest you head on over to insideadog where Scott Westerfeld, Justine Larbalestier and Maureen Johnson take us on a video tour of the 3 city block queue.
Also, in case you’re wondering over a quarter of Americans 12+ have read a Harry Potter book. And over half have seen one of the films. That’s one hell of a franchise. They’ve made over 11 million dollars solely from sales of Harry Potter chewing gum.
(and since you asked, I really, really enjoyed reading the book. But now it’s had a few days to percolate, there are a lot of things that I really didn’t like, and some other, big issues that i think weren’t resolved, that i find disappointing)
