Cowen Gallery
For large cocktail parties and dinners, the Cowen Gallery offers a grand and elegant setting. The 'Red Rotunda' can be hired separately and makes a stunning backdrop for an intimate sit-down dinner or small cocktail party.
Specifications
Capacity
The Cowen Gallery can accomodate 400 people for cocktail functions and 220 for sit-down functions.
Floor area
The floor area of the Cowen Gallery is 684 square metres (consisting of 414 square metres main hall and two 135 square metres rotundas).
Availability
The Cowen Gallery is available after 6.30pm Friday to Sunday. Proposals for other times will be assessed on application. Venue hire is based on an hourly rate and may be subject to a minimum hire period.
Facilities & services
Venue hire includes basic furniture, signage, venue set-up, support and security. Access to cloaking facilities on request.
Catering
Catering services are provided by the Library's preferred caterers. Contact details can be provided on request.
Floor talks
Curatorial talks related to the artworks in the Cowen Gallery can be arranged subject to availability.
Special conditions
The main conditions applicable to the use of the Cowen Gallery are:
- Candles are not permitted in the Gallery.
- Floral arrangements can only be used in consultation with the Venue Manager and will be subject to inspection prior to entering the space.
- Drinks must be served via tray service.
- Dance floors are not permitted in the Gallery.
However, to ensure your needs are met, each event will be considered on an individual basis. The Venue Manager will be happy to discuss your specific requirements.
'Red Rotunda' Specifications
Capacity
The 'Red Rotunda' can accomodate 80 people for cocktail functions and 50 people for sit-down functions.
Floor area
The floor area of the 'Red Rotunda' is 135 square metres.
Availability
The 'Red Rotunda' is generally available seven days a week. Proposals will be assessed on application.
