Conference Centre

The Conference Centre offers a suite of venues catering for a range of purposes including lectures, presentations, meetings and conferences.

There is a 210-seat theatrette, seminar rooms that can be used as separate spaces or opened up to create one large space, and a lounge that is ideal for receptions, launches or cocktail parties. The lounge can also function as a 60-seat venue. 

Village Roadshow Theatrette

The Village Roadshow Theatrette is a fully-appointed theatrette with fixed seating. Audio-visual equipment is controlled from a touch screen console located on the raised stage. Integrated equipment includes:

• Sony video/data projector
• VCR, CD and DVD players
• document camera
• microphone network, including lapel microphones
• house lights.

While the theatrette seats 210 people, it can easily cater for groups as small as 60. 

Seminar rooms & Conference Centre lounge

There are four seminar rooms and a lounge. Seminar Rooms 2, 3, 4 and 5 are suited to meetings, seminars and planning days, while the Lounge can be used for cocktail parties, launches and presentations.

Seminar rooms 2, 3, 4 and 5, and the lounge are situated on Level 2A of the Conference Centre. They feature natural light and dimmable ceiling lights. Rooms 2 and 3 offer a unique perspective of the Library as they overlook the Genealogy Centre. Rooms 4 and 5 overlook La Trobe Street.

The Seminar Rooms and lounge do not have in-built equipment; however, a range of portable furniture and equipment is available for use in these venues.

Hours of operation

The Centre operates from 8am to 10pm, seven days a week.

Access to Conference Centre & Theatrette

Access is via Entry 3 on La Trobe Street.
