About Georges Mora

Georges Mora was a major figure in Australian culture and a catalyst in the Australian art world for 40 years. An entrepreneur, restaurateur and art dealer, he believed in ideas and supported artists of all ages in their attempts to express their ideas and individuality through their chosen medium.

The Georges Mora Foundation honours its namesake's contribution to the visual arts. Inspired by his example and influence, it continues his work of supporting and promoting contemporary art and artists in Australia. In addition to this Fellowship it presents a biennial lecture, the 'Art Out Loud' Biennial Artist's Lecture. Dame Elisabeth Murdoch is the Foundation's Patron.
