About the Fellowships

The Library's Fellowships for teachers were established with funding from the William Buckland Foundation. In-kind support was provided by the Victorian Institute of Teaching.

Aims

The Fellowships aimed to:

  • support schools to provide leaders of the future with opportunities for professional research and reflection on practice
  • create innovative and authentic learning experiences for students and teachers which engage with the collections and services of the State Library of Victoria
  • generate a professional network connecting the State Library to schools and teachers across Victoria
  • improve awareness of the State Library and its role in the cultural lives of all Victorians.

Benefits

The Fellowships:

  • provided recipients with high-profile, creative professional development opportunities which engage with the wider community
  • developed innovative and sustainable programs and resources that benefit the Victorian education sector.
