Carole Wilkinson started her working life as a lab assistant cutting up cats’ brains. Now she’s an author, and her books for children deal with dragons, mummies, emperors and hanged bushrangers.

Carole is the author of the best-selling Ramose series set in Ancient Egypt, as well as Alexander the Great: Reckless Conqueror and Black Snake: the Daring of Ned Kelly, which was made an Honour Book by the Children’s Book Council of Australia in 2003.

Carole’s first novel, Dragonkeeper, won the CBC Book of the Year for Younger Readers in 2004.
