Ben Kozel grew up in South Australia. He spent his childhood poring over maps of the world, and is now a dedicated adventure traveller.
In 1999 Ben became a member of only the third team ever to successfully trace the entire 6700 kilometre length of the Amazon River - an adventure that included some of the world’s most dangerous white water, venomous insects and reptiles, and getting shot at by guerillas.
Ben’s literary debut came with Three Men in a Raft, which details his extraordinary experiences on the Amazon. His second book, Five Months in a Leaky Boat, is an account his journey down the Yenisey, the second longest river in Asia, in 2001.
Ben is currently making plans for a journey to North Africa in 2006. |
