Sonya Hartnett nearly lost her first novel, Trouble All The Way, when a savage teenage critic threw the unpublished manuscript into a camp fire. She was 15 when the book was eventually published.
Sonya has released 16 novels and won numerous prizes, including The Age Book of the Year Award and the Commonwealth Writers Prize for Best Book in the SE Asia and South Pacific region in 2003 for her adult novel Of A Boy.
Her young adult novel Forest was the winner of the CBC Book of the Year Award for Older Readers, and Sleeping Dogs won the Victorian Premier's Literary Award for Young Adult Fiction.
